Ingredients

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to taste
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley for garnish
  • Lemon wedges for serving, optional

Method

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 3 to 5 minutes.
  2. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. If they are thick, pound them to an even thickness.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, oregano, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Brush both sides of the chicken breasts with olive oil.
  5. Coat the chicken evenly with the Cajun seasoning mixture, pressing gently so the spices stick.
  6. Place the chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between each piece.
  7. Air fry for 10 minutes, then flip the chicken.
  8. Continue cooking for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  9. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust the cayenne pepper to make the chicken milder or spicier.
  • Pounding the chicken to an even thickness helps it cook evenly.
  • For even more flavor, marinate the chicken with the seasoning and olive oil for 30 minutes before air frying.
  • Serve with roasted vegetables, rice, corn on the cob, coleslaw, or a fresh green salad.
