Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 25 minutes
Total Time 35 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients

For the Chicken
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
For the BBQ Sauce
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet or baking dish.
  2. Pat the chicken breasts dry. If they are very thick, gently pound them to an even thickness so they cook evenly.
  3. Drizzle the chicken with olive oil and season both sides with garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  4. In a small bowl, stir together the BBQ sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, and smoked paprika until smooth.
  5. Arrange the chicken on the prepared pan with a little space between each piece, then brush a generous layer of the BBQ sauce mixture over the top.
  6. Bake for about 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the chicken breasts.
  7. Remove the pan and brush another generous layer of BBQ sauce over the chicken, then return it to the oven.
  8. Bake for another 5 to 10 minutes, or until the thickest part of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
  9. For darker, stickier edges, broil for 1 to 2 minutes while watching closely so the BBQ sauce does not burn.
  10. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving. Brush with a little fresh BBQ sauce if desired.
