Servings: 4
Course: lounch
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cooked and sliced
  • 2 large romaine lettuce hearts chopped
  • 1 cup homemade or store-bought croutons
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • cup Caesar dressing
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce optional

Method

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the romaine lettuce, then chop it into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a large salad bowl, combine the romaine lettuce, sliced chicken, croutons, and Parmesan cheese.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the Caesar dressing, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, if using, and black pepper.
  4. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss gently until everything is evenly coated.
  5. Sprinkle with a little extra Parmesan cheese if desired.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Dry the lettuce thoroughly after washing. Excess moisture will dilute the dressing and make the salad soggy.
  • Toss the salad just before serving to keep the romaine crisp and the croutons crunchy.
  • Freshly grated Parmesan has a better flavor and texture than pre-shredded cheese.
  • If preparing ahead, store the lettuce, chicken, dressing, and croutons separately and assemble right before serving.
  • For extra protein and flavor, add sliced hard-boiled eggs or crispy bacon just before serving.
